Parenting Weblinks
Bullying Online, the UK’s leading anti-bullying charity, thinks it’s great that the government is getting to grips with cyber bullying. This charity was the first in the UK to highlight this problem publicly in 2000 and since then we’ve received thousands of complaints of abuse by text message, silent phone calls, insulting forum messages, happy slapping and vicious and threatening website pages. |
The Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre works across the UK and maximises international links to tackle child sex abuse wherever and whenever it happens. Part of our strategy for achieving this is by providing internet safety advice for parents and carers and delivering a virtual police station for reporting abuse on the internet. |
Bullying hurts and you don't have to endure it. If you are on the receiving end of bullying, there are many things that can be done to make your life easier. This web site is intended to show pupils, their families and teachers how to tackle a problem that has gone on for far too long. It is packed with new ideas, practical techniques and the valuable experiences of those who have been bullied, or have even bullied others, to demonstrate that you need not Suffer in Silence. |
My Family Care provides different services as benefits for companies’ employees. We work with family friendly employers such as the NHS, the MET Police, P&G and many of the Times best companies to work for. Our award winning service Emergency Childcare helps parents find the local childcare they need (nannies, childminders, nurseries). The companies we work with subsidise their employees when they book through the sites. It’s a great solution for parents and benefits the childcare providers involved (registration for childcarers is free). |
My Family Care's Out of School Care has been developed as a simple search and booking service for parents looking for children's holiday club providers and summer camps in their area. They also work with companies to help provide their employees with the best backup childcare. |
Parentline Plus is a national charity that works for, and with, parents. We know that parents want to do the best they can for their children, but sometimes family life can be challenging and difficult. There is after all, no one right way to parent. In the UK there are over 24 million people who parent – it’s not just mums and dads who do it. Families come in all shapes and sizes. Grandparents, stepparents, brothers, sisters, other relatives, friends and foster carers are all involved in raising happy, healthy children. Parentline Plus works to offer help and support through an innovative range of free, flexible, responsive services - shaped by parents for parents. |
SafeKids was formed to offer a unique reference point on keeping your child safe. Keeping your kids safe is so important! Whether you're a parent or a childcare professional, our advice will help you. Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject. Our features and articles are written by professional journalists and experts - who have a particular interest, or a background in this area |
