RE: Form a View

In answer to the question by Anja Samy: The Arts Award scheme was certainly the most enjoyable and enriching aspect of my nine-years education in SCE. The outlet that it offered for my talents and ambitions, easily overlooked by the rigid academic curriculum, gave me an enduring confidence that has allowed me to flourish beyond school.

I think the work the Globe does plays a crucial role in preserving interest in and fascination with our greatest literary treasures. My experience of their plays, workshops and the fantastic productions they offer to young people has left me in no doubt that it is they who be credited with the forging the next generation's lifelong love of the Bard.

I'm now on the Stanstead Express contemplating the work I've witnessed and been a part of.

I've have been wowed by the talent of your children (artists and actors) and deeply impressed by the generosity, care and attention provided by the staff team.

I've enjoyed this trip and experience immensely and will treasure the memory forever.

RE: Form a View

In answer to the question by Chesca Ferguson: If schools teach the ABC of literacy then why not teach the ABC of the Arts, and why are Arts subjects not compulsory at key stage 4?

I think it is very important to include the arts through out the education. It's really important for children to be inspired and enjoy what they are learning as this encourages them to work hard. I also think it is important to broaden childrens experiences past the core subjects that are often focused on. Arts can also be used to assist the teaching of other subjects which i think makes it such a valuable aspect of teaching.
