We invite Schools in Service Children's Education to take part in Big Arts Week, 28th June - July 2nd 2010.

This year we are celebrating and exploring Cultural Diversity through Dance. An 'SCE Goes Strictly' opportunity will be offered to some of our schools to explore ballroom dancing.

Through Creative Partnerships Corrie Lunghi and Denzil Barnes Dance Practitioners will be working in our Enquiry Schools championing dance and creativity.

Artsmark celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and we are thrilled that a further 9 of our schools have applied for the Artsmark National Award.

Our Artsmark Celebration Day will therefore be part of Big Arts Week. 63% of pur schools now enjoy Artsmark status. SCE have been part of the of Artsmark the scheme since 2003 and it is more succesful than ever.

Through our involvement in the Arts Awards Programme we were able to be part of the Shakespeare Challenge where some of our students will gain Arts Award Bronze through seeing and exploring Shakespeare, since adopting the Arts Award 2007 with a pilot group of nine puipls the programme is now running in 40% of our schools.

Arts Partnerships continue to provide inspiring opportunities for our students most noteably our partnership with Globe Education. This year for the second time we are able to take part in the Playing Shakespeare Scheme and have been offered free theatre tickets. The Globe are also an important part of our Gifted and Talented Arts Summer School now in its 5th year.

Big Arts Week inspires our pupils, engages with their positive energy and enables them to use their imagination to enjoy the arts.

We hope that you will join this exciting creative initiative.
